Wiki Spam (ADL)

Wiki spam is a real nuisance. The good news is, the entire community of wiki developers and operators are pooling their resources to foil these spammers' efforts, and to render their actions futile. (ADM)

Fixing Spammed Pages (ADN)

Anyone who can edit the wiki can and should manually fix vandalism as soon as it happens. This wiki allows you to overwrite the current (presumably vandalized) version of a page and replace it with an older version. To do that: (ADO)

Click "View other revisions" at the bottom of the vandalized page (ADP)
Click on the link of the revision (a known good version) you want to recover to. This will take you to a page with the text of that old revision. (ADQ)
Click "Edit revision ## of this page" at the bottom. (ADR)
Add a summary, such as "spam removed" or "spam removed; page restored" and then click the 'Save' button. (ADS)

Please help by reporting wiki spammers to your respective CWE Administrators, or set up a Wiki Spammers page on your own wiki to document who they are (IP addresses or host names) and chronologize their activities and damage done. (ADU)
