While preparing a recent presentation, I came to realize that
both MS Powerpoint (2000) and OpenOffice Impress (v2.0) had a
fairly restrictive limitation on the length of the URL that can
be properly used in their 'hyperlink' support. (01)
As a result, I am writing to recommend that, for those of us who
are creating wiki page titles (especially when child pages for
employed) to be aware of this limitation (i.e. if the URL ends up
to be too long ... I don't really know what is 'too long', but I
suppose below 80 is acceptable) and try not to create WikiWord
titles that are excessively long. (02)
... Besides, when they get too long, chances are, the usefulness
of the automatic linking feature (which helps tremendously in
linking special terms to their elaborated pages or glossary)
diminishes somewhat too. (03)
Just thought I would share this with everyone. (04)
Cheers. =ppy
